What's General Data Protection Regulation? (GDPR)

Jurisdictional Principles of GDPR

Territorial Principle

The enterprises or branches whose main establishment are located in the EU shall follow GDPR.

Personal Principle

If the enterprises outside the EU need to

  • Collect and process personal data to provide goods and services for identifiable natural persons in the EU whether free or not or
  • Collect and process personal data to monitor the activities of identifiable natural Persons in the EU
They shall follow GDPR

Punishments Resulting From the Violation of GDPR
Supervisory Authority can audit, investigate, correct, fines, prohibit data processing, suspend data transfer to third countries, breach of contract, and individual prosecution.
